Language Tip: Gender of Animals

In Greek, like many languages, animals are assigned a gender. For example, the word for ‘cat’ is γάτα (gáta), which is feminine. This affects the articles and adjectives used with the animal. Make sure to learn the gender of animals when learning their names!
