African History

African history is long and rich. It dates back thousands of years, with many different cultures and civilizations developing across the continent. One of the most well-known ancient civilizations in Africa is Egypt, which built the famous pyramids and had powerful pharaohs ruling the land. Another important empire was the Kingdom of Kush, which was located in present-day Sudan and was known for its skilled archers and powerful military. In West Africa, the Mali Empire was one of the wealthiest and most powerful empires in the world, with the famous ruler Mansa Musa known for his great riches and pilgrimage to Mecca.

During the 15th and 16th centuries, European explorers began to arrive in Africa, looking for trade routes and sources of wealth. This led to the colonization of many African countries by European powers, with countries like Britain, France, and Portugal claiming territories and exploiting the resources and people of Africa.
