Cultural Insight: Animal Gender in Arabic

In Arabic, nouns are either masculine or feminine. When talking about animals, it’s important to note that their gender affects the form of the word. For example, the word for ‘cat’ is قط (qit) which is masculine, while ‘dog’ is كلب (kalb) which is also masculine. Pay attention to the gender of animals when using Arabic vocabulary!
