Cultural Insight: Gender Agreement in Arabic

In Arabic, adjectives must agree in gender with the noun they describe. For example, the word for ‘beautiful’ is جميل (jameel). If you’re describing a masculine noun, you would say رجل جميل (rajul jameel) (beautiful man), and for a feminine noun, امرأة جميلة (imra’ah jameelah) (beautiful woman).
