Maximian was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 286 to 305 AD, known for his military campaigns and efforts to restore stability to the Roman Empire.

- 305 AD: Maximian resigns as co-emperor, but is persuaded to return by Diocletian
- 305 AD: Maximian abdicates the throne and retires to his villa in Campania
- 306 AD: Maximian is forced out of retirement by his son, Maxentius, to help him seize power in Rome
- 308 AD: Maximian attempts to overthrow Maxentius, but fails and is captured
- 310 AD: Maximian is pardoned by Constantine the Great and allowed to retire once again
- 310 AD: Maximian is implicated in a plot against Constantine and commits suicide
